Speedway Motorsports | Post-COVID Campaign

<h2 class="h3">Keeping pace with a sport that pushes the limits.</h2>
By Spring 2020, NASCAR was starting up again with the Coca-Cola 600 after COVID-19 shut down live gatherings. Speedway Motorsports was slated to host the race on Memorial Day Weekend. It was a monumental moment for Speedway Motorsports, NASCAR, and the sports world at large.

<h3 class="h6">"THIS ONE'S FOR THE FANS"</h3>
In just two weeks, we built an integrated campaign that included TV, digital, and social media to build excitement and viewership for the event. Reading like manifestos, the TV and digital spots spoke to emotions the entire country was feeling after months of being cooped up inside.
70% ticket sales retention during the pandemic.

<h3 class="h6">SOCIAL STICKERS AND GIVEAWAY</h3>
<p style="width: 50%;text-align:right;"> To help Speedway Motorsports capitalize on NASCAR’s growing popularity, we elevated the brand’s social media efforts and created a branded sticker pack, putting everybody, everywhere in the driver’s seat of their own fandom. </p>
<p style="width: 50%;text-align:right;"> We also concepted and promoted a social media giveaway, dubbed “Winner’s Circle,” giving followers the opportunity to predict the winner of the Coca-Cola 600 and win race-themed prizes—even a top-of-the-line Nexgrill. </p>

234% increase in overall impressions
276% increase in YOY engagement
<h3 class="h6">"WE ARE"</h3>
The finely-tuned campaign and social giveaway drove substantial engagement across platforms.

“Tattoo took the time to deeply understand our offerings, audience, and value, resulting in a cohesive portfolio that sets us apart in a competitive market.”

As a victory lap, other major sports leagues took note of the success and approached NASCAR for guidance as they planned their own returns during COVID-19.

Sheetz’s mission is to give people time back to do more of the things they love. In honor of Global Pay It Forward Day, we helped Sheetz put their mission into action with the “Time Back” campaign.

Leveraging social listening tools, we scrubbed Sheetz social platforms to pinpoint Sheetz Freakz who had fallen on hard times.

<h2 style="margin-bottom: 0.5vw;font-size: 18px;line-height: 1.2;letter-spacing:1px;">RECIPIENT SELECTION</h2>
We then worked with the brand’s executive team to vet stories, select recipients, and donate unprecedented prizes to Sheetz fans who simply need some time back.

<h2 style="margin-bottom: 0.5vw;font-size: 18px;line-height: 1.2;letter-spacing:1px;">MICROSITE DESIGN</h2>
We produced five beautiful videos of the in-person donations, telling each recipient’s story and showcasing their emotional reactions. On paid social, the videos drove visitors to a custom #TimeBack website, where we encouraged community members to pay it forward in their own lives.
